The word microbiology is derived from the two Greek words 

• Micro means small.
• Biologia means studying life.

It is concerned with form ,structure,reproductive,physiology,metabolism and identification of microbes.

Microbes is a termed for tiny creature and individually is too small to be seen with naked eye.
